We have all seen the rise of unconventional gas in the US. This is changing the outlook for some of the planned LNG to the markets there, which again is impacting Europe.
Europe also have very large volumes of unconventional gas, and as improved technology becomes available, companies are showing much attention to this potential. After being the playground for smaller companies trying to do marginal developments, we now see the majors rolling in: ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips, Marathon and Shell are all venturing onshore Europe now. Some indications are that Sweden, Poland and other EU members could become larger gas producers than Norway!
We have invited different specialists to talk about several aspects of this gas potential in Europe, as it could impact the economy, energy mix, security of supply and more. The European Commission will comment on the market impact, which again could impact Norway's planned income from future gas exports. As usual, we have short presentations with discussion.
